TCI Taxidermy provides specialised training in advanced field preparation for professional hunters, outfitters, trackers and skinners. These highly beneficial courses are held directly at large conservancies, offering practical, real world experience.
Our training covers essential skills for ensuring the quality of the final trophy, including:
- Skinning techniques tailored for different mounting types.
- Meticulous cleaning and preparation of skins for safe transport.
- Proper use of brine and leather care solutions, including guidance on salt types.
- We have also successfully introduced a popular bird skinning and preparation course, offering participants exciting new skills to enhance their overall expertise and trophy care.
Field Care Collections
TCI Taxidermy offers a unique and invaluable service of field collections, ensuring your trophies are safely and securely transported from the field directly to our studio.
We conduct monthly visits to popular hunting areas to meticulously collect:
- Dry salted and folded skins.
- Buff taped skulls, with all smaller skulls packed carefully in plastic for protection.
- Security remains our absolute top priority. Our dedicated transport compartments are fully locked and bolted for the duration of the journey.
